    Heart of Darkness

5 Year’s in the making:

Finally Heart of Darkness is here, took a while didn’t it. Seeing as most rock01.gif (14158 bytes)people have heard about this i won’t delve into it too deeply but here is the basic run down. You are Andy who is a typical young boy, at least by day. At night he fights against the forces of darkness who seem obsessed with stealing his dog. Well thats pretty well the so called plot, hmm 5 years you say. I can’t help but feel that after 5 years they could have come up with something a little better plot wise, ahwell was it worth the wait.

I must have hit the Zoom button:

First let me get this out of the way, the game is in VGA, yes that’s right rock02.gif (14366 bytes)VGA. No SVGA or anything else, it’s all VGA, ok. Despite this the graphics are well drawn, very well animated and very colourful. I have to say that this game is nice looking but the viewing screen obviously is in letterbox format due to the resolution. But no matter which way you look at it, they should have made it SVGA, what makes it worse is it wouldn’t have taken them very long.

Seeing as the game is rendered, then all they had to do is re-render it at 640*480 instead of 320*240. Another graphic point are the cut-scenes which are good and nice looking but we’ve seen better.
