Star Wars somewhere else:
Freespace started out in a strange way being called Descent: Freespace, because some
people thought that it was related to 
Descent. The only
connection I could find is that it’s made by a company that is an offspring from
Parallax, called Volition. The other half of Parallax are doing the Descent one people,
Descent 3 will be among us soon. But this is Freespace, a space game meant to take on the
mighty X-wing/Tie-fighter games and the dodgy yet still popular Wing Commander. The story
line is the same as Wing Commander Prophacy, almost exactly the same so I won’t
bother telling you about it. One of the things they are most proud of though is the sheer
sense of scale your supposed to feel from the Sheer scale of the thing. Does it work
though?
