Jane's
Fleet Command

What
a good idea:
This idea is a really
good one, and it fills up a practically empty market. Something I would
love to see is a RTS game which gives you control of a whole fleet,
preferably one with real ships and set in these times. There is such a
potential for a good game in that, as long as it’s not at a Command and
Conquer pace, maybe more of a Settlers pace. The only game that I can
think of that has anything to do with this is the upcoming Cutthroats or
Corsairs, however they are both about 15th century pirates
which is a little off the timeline I was thinking, but it’s a
start.

Well here we have an
attempt to fulfil this empty market by Jane’s, who make excellent
information books and usually mediocre games (with a few exceptions). Now
I like World War 2 fighters, it looks lovely and plays well, although the
terrain you fly over is bloody boring, but it’s a good game all the
same. Now you can’t deny that Jane’s know there stuff, I mean who else
has as much information as they do on modern day weaponry, no one I can
think of. Vast knowledge is one thing but is the actual game any good?
Well, erm, quite.
