IBM Ultrastar 9LP - 9,1GB USCSI Narrow

IBM offers a distinct disk drive products that provides premium performance designed to speed access to data for such advanced applications as OLTP, video editing, and data mining. The Ultrastar 9LP - providing 9.1 GB of storage, respectively - are optimized for enterprise server and storage subsystem applications where higher capacity is required in a smaller footprint. Operating at 7200 RPM rotational speeds, the 9LP provides fast read seek times as low as 6.5 ms, allowing users to store double the number of terabytes in half the space when compared to other storage solutions. The Ultrastar 9LP are easily integrated into today's existing enterprise servers.

As members of the IBM Ultrastar family of disk drives, the Ultrastar 9LP drive provides reliable, high-performance storage for high-end and PC LAN server systems that must deliver outstanding throughput for demanding database, Internet/intranet, decision support, data mining, and On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) applications.

Featuring 9.1 GB  in a 3.5-inch form factor, the Ultrastar 9LP provides two of the highest capacities in their class. To provide exceptional performance, these drives combine a rotational speed of 7200 RPM and fast seek times as low as 6.5 ms with a new IBM custom controller that incorporates command queuing and a large programmable multisegmented 1 MB cache. Hardware automation further reduces SCSI command overhead and cache accessing time.
