Philips Speech Miketm
Speech Miketm
Bundled Software.
The Mike comes with three programs and they
are: one recording program, one program called SpeechMike control to setup the programable
buttons and one to change the wave volume and tone, pretty much like the volume control in
windows. The recording program worked fine and you could control it from the Mike
by using the buttons on it. When you started the recording the little red lamp above
the recording button started blinking. In the SpeechMike control you can program the
programable buttons. You can choose from programing either a text or a hotkey to the
buttons. If you choose text mode you can program a whole essay into one button not that I
know why you would want to do that but it's pretty kewl. If you often type emails you can
program your signature into one button and tada, with just one press on the button you
have your whole signature inserted into your mail.
Conclusion!
It took me some time to get used to the trackball because I
have used a standard mouse all my life, but after a while I got used to it. I think the
Mike is a really good tool for your computer and I specially recommend it to you people
that surf, Netmeet and use typing programs such as Word, Excel etc .But I also recommend
it to you people that want to be able to sit back and relax when you play games like Total
Annihilation, Red Alert and so on. So I give the Mike a reasonable 80%.
Cons
It is not as fast and precise as an standard mouse.
Pros
Works in conjunction with another mouse or trackball.
It fits really good in your hand.
You can sit back and relax while using it.
The programmable buttons are very useful.
