Maxi Sound Fortissimo
- 05/03/00

Installation:

The installation couldn’t have been easier. I uninstalled the drivers for my old soundcard. After shutting down the computer and replacing the old soundcard with the Maxi Sound Fortissimo and connecting the CD audio cable to the card I started it up again and windows detected new hardware immediately. Then after pressing next a couple of times I heard the windows startup sound and the installation was finished.

Later on I saw on Guillemots homepage that they had new updated drivers supporting EAX 2.0 so I installed them instead. Updating to the new drivers also went smooth I just double clicked the update file and it removed the old drivers and rebooted the computer and when windows started again it detected new hardware again and as before after pressing next a couple of times the installation was finished.

When I looked in the control panel I noticed that a new icon had appeared YAMAHA DS-XG sound configuration. There you can change a bunch of different settings such as adding echo and setting 2 or 4 channel output and also fiddle a bit with direct sound and DOS-BOX settings.
