Hercules 3D Prophet DDR DVI
- 03/08/00
by:

Introduction:

Finally time for the Hercules 3D Prophet DDR DVI graphic card. This is a card that I have been waiting a long time to get my hands on and put in my test computer. Most of you thought that we shouldn’t see a graphic card from Hercules again but after Guillemot took over Hercules everything has started to look much better both for Hercules and Guillemot. This is not the first graphic card I’m testing from Guillemot and this far I have only seen great boards from them and I’m sure that the 3D Prophet DDR DVI will live up to this.

The big question about the Geforce and the DDR Geforce cards is if they really are worth the price right now. You can get either a 3dfx Voodoo 3 3000 at around 100$ right now or you could go for the 32 MB TNT 2 card for around 120$. If you want the 3D Prophet DDR DVI card you have to pay around 270$ for it. Is this card actually worth the extra 150$ ? This is something that I shall try to find out during the review. I will compare the 3D Prophet DDR DVI against both a Voodoo 3 3000 and a TNT 2 16MB card to see how much performance you actually gain in games and tests.
