Microsoft Sidewinder Dual Strike
- 12/10/99
by:
Johan Bengtsson

USB:

The Dual Strike has a USB connector as most new devices have and this is something that I really like. With a USB hub and a couple of USB gamepads you can play games like NHL2000 with your friends (an excellent game btw). When playing with a couple of friends on the same computer the entertainment will increase in any game.

When I first tested the Dual Strike Gamepad it was a real problem to control the character but after an hour of playing it started to feel really good. The first game i tested it with was Quake 2. There was no need to set up the buttons for the gamepad, as there already was a config file for Quake 2. It’s pretty hard to go from the keyboard/mouse combination that I have used to the Dual Strike gamepad but after a time it was pretty easy to play.

When trying the gamepad with other games I found that it was great for all FPS games but it’s not very good for other games. It will probably work in Fighting games to but there are better gamepads out there for that type of games.
