The test results
at 1280x1024 also clearly show that the Hercules 3D Prophet DDR DVI beats
the 3dfx Voodoo 3 3000 at everything. The final 3D Mark 2000 score of the
3D Prophet is more then twice the score the Voodoo 3 got in both 1024x768
and 1280x1024. We have now clearly seen what the 3D Prophet can do in
tests. But it’s not tests that the normal user is interested in so
let’s take a look at the Quake 3 Arena performance.

Quake 3 ran with
original configuration. The only thing that was changed during the test
was the resolution. The Hercules 3D Prophet DDR DVI didn’t loose much
performance when changing resolution. I would have liked to test the 3D
Prophet at higher resolutions to really see when it looses performance.
The Voodoo 3 didn’t have much of a chance at the higher resolutions but
this was nothing unexpected.
