The 3D Blaster Savage4
The 3D Blaster Savage4 will be
released in 3 versions, a PCI and AGP version with a Savage4 chip running at a core
clockspeed of 100Mhz and a memory clock at 125Mhz, there will also be a version called 3D
Blaster Savage4+ wich will feature a core running at a full 125Mhz a memory clock
at 143Mhz and a RAMDAC running at a full 300Mhz compared to the 270Mhz of the Savage4.
The 3D Blaster Savege4 series is going to be aimed at the mediumend and upgrade user
market and not at the highend market, even though the Savage4+ offers some really good
performance.
Last year was the big hype about more and more speed in games and people went out and
bought the graphiccard that got the best scores in tests and didn`t look at how cards
graphics really looked like. Most games now run at well over 50 frames per second and
there ain`t not much use for any more speed in the games. The Savage 4 tries a different
aproach and the focus is now on high resolution textures and true color rendering. We had
a look at this when creative showed us some demos and I must say that Im very impressed.
